How do I start this timer?

Does the timer ring if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown is calculated from the exact end time, so it stays accurate in a background tab. When time is up, the alarm rings, the tab title flashes and, if you allowed it, a notification appears.
Can I add time while it runs?
Yes: press +1 min or the up arrow key. The down arrow removes a minute.
