Reaction time test
Your tries
The measured time includes the lag of the screen and of the mouse or touchscreen, which varies between devices: compare yourself on the same device.
Wait for green, tap at once: five tries, the average and the best time in milliseconds, false starts detected. Free, no account.
Tap to start, wait for the screen to turn green, then tap as fast as you can. After five tries, the page gives the average and the best time; a tap before green counts as a false start. Your best average stays on the device.
Frequently asked questions
How does the test work?
After a tap, the screen stays red for a random time, between 1.5 and 4 seconds, then turns green. Tap as soon as you see green. A tap during red is a false start and does not count.
What is a good reaction time?
It varies with the person, tiredness and the device. The most useful thing is to compare your own averages, on the same device.
Is the measurement accurate?
The signal is timestamped at the frame that shows it, and the tap when it begins. The lag of the screen and mouse is added: a few dozen milliseconds depending on the device.
