Random name picker
Pick a name at random, without repeats until the last one, or make balanced teams. The list stays on your device.
Paste the class list, one name per line: each draw picks someone not yet drawn, down to the last one. You can also make teams of equal size. The list stays on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Is the draw really random?
Yes: it uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator, and every remaining name has the same chance. A drawn name does not come back until everyone has been drawn.
How are teams made?
The list is shuffled at random, then dealt out: teams have the same size, give or take one person.
Are the students’ names stored?
Only on your device, to find the list next time. Nothing is sent to our servers.
