Durations

Settings

Traffic light: green while you work, amber when a quarter of the time is left, red at the end.

Pick a duration and a visual cue (dial, hourglass or traffic light), press Start and switch to full screen: the whole class sees how much time is left.

Choose a duration, then a visual cue that pupils understand at a glance: a dial that empties, an hourglass or a traffic light. In full screen on the board, it stays readable from the back of the room.

Frequently asked questions

Which visual cue should I choose?

The dial suits all ages: the coloured part shrinks as time passes. The hourglass speaks to younger pupils. The traffic light gives a simple code: green to work, amber to finish, red to stop.

Does it work on an interactive whiteboard?

Yes, in any recent browser. Press “Full screen” (or F): only the timer remains, very large. The screen stays on during the countdown.

Can I hide the numbers?

Yes: untick “Show the numbers” in the settings. Young children read the visual cue only; screen readers still announce the time left.
