What would you like to time?

Try “10 minutes for pasta”, “wake me up at 7”, “start a pomodoro” or “tabata”.

Subathon timer for your streams

A subathon extends the stream with each support: a sub, a donation or a challenge. This timer shows in OBS on a transparent background. You add the time yourself, from the keyboard or from your phone, up to a cap if you want one. It is not linked to any Twitch or YouTube account.

From the keyboard, in OBS

The simplest way: the timer overlay and its add keys. In OBS’s “Interact” window, keys 1 to 9 add that many minutes and 0 adds 10. OBS keeps the time, even when the source is refreshed.

Create the subathon overlay

From your phone

A shared room keeps the time on the server. Your phone is the remote (+1, +5, +10 or +30 minutes), the OBS overlay follows the room and shows each addition for a few seconds. A moderator can add time too, with the remote link.

Create a subathon room

Add the overlay to OBS

  1. In OBS: Sources › + › Browser.
  2. Paste the overlay address, with a width of 1920 and a height of 1080: the background stays transparent.
  3. Choose the position, size and colour of the time before copying the address, or move the source in the scene.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer follow Twitch subs by itself?

No: it is not linked to any account. You or a moderator add the time, from the keyboard or from a phone. Nothing is asked of Twitch or YouTube.

What is the cap for?

It limits the time left: past it, additions no longer count. With a 12-hour cap, the timer never shows more than 12 hours.

What happens if OBS restarts?

With the keyboard, OBS keeps the time on the computer. With a room, the room keeps it and every device finds it again; it is deleted after 24 hours without any action.

What happens at the end?

The time stops at 00:00 and an alarm rings, if the source’s audio goes through OBS. A new addition restarts the timer.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account. The “Miniteur” mention under the time can be hidden.
