Frequently asked questions
Why can the date change by a day?
The Islamic calendar is lunar: each month begins with the sighting of the new crescent. Many countries wait for this sighting, announced the evening before; the calculated date is therefore an estimate until then.
Does the countdown follow my country?
Yes: choose your country and the countdown uses the date confirmed for it as soon as it is known. Until then it shows the calculated date, marked as estimated. It reaches zero at midnight, at the time of your device.
Can I create a countdown for another date?
Yes: the countdown page lets you choose any date and time, with a title and a link to share.
